  • Despite his general lack of organisation skills, the SO had secretly made reservations at The Attic restaurant in Malt Dining on Market Street. It's been on my list to-visit, so I was really pleased to have finally made it there. However, when I had asked the SO if he had brought one of our proper cameras, he eyed me woefully and replied: "This is a birthday dinner, not a food blogging dinner."

It’s my birthday and I’ll take photos of my food if I want to

  • That walk took us up Brunswick Street and into Anise, a tiny restaurant squished between Gertie’s and Majo’s. Anise has been around a long time and has built a solid reputation for intimate fine dining. Save one small table right by the door, everyone else gets to sit up at the black bar.

  • Hey, I’m not suggesting that I have an ounce of street cred to my name, but for the sake of research (and my ever expanding tummy rolls), let’s just say I strutted down with my ace (the SO) to break it down for you readers and check if DA'Burger deserves some props.

  • When I was invited to visit Queensland's Sirromet Winery, I was hesitant. What can a non-wino (and definitely no wine expert) say about their award winning wines? I laid out my concerns to their marketing manager and she very kindly invited me to visit one of their 3 dining venues, Tuscan Terrace. So of course I said yes.

  • Imagine my excitement to learn there was a French café much closer to our home on Brunswick Street. Banneton Bakery is by no means a new player to the hospitality game, but we have consistently missed opportunities to sample their wares from rushing around like headless chooks fulfilling weekly chores. Will Banneton Bakery help fill the void of my little Frenchie heart?
