  • Peasant has been on my to-visit list for ages, but with the crazy week I've been having, I wasn't able to muster as much excitement about paying the establishment a visit for a Sunday dinner catch-up with friends as it deserves.

  • If you haven’t heard about Swampdog Fish and Chips, their key selling point is that they support sustainable fish. What with the overfishing and waste one sees in the fishing industry, it’s heartening to see an establishment commit to being conscious about its impact on the industry and seeking to provide an alternative to those who love fish.

  • The Noodle Haus kiosk is much like every other stall in the Westfield Carindale food court - orders are made and paid for. The SO tucked into his Noodle Haus laksa in fervour and quipped once that he loved the sliced barbeque pork. After the meal, he even patted his tummy in satisfaction and said it hit the spot.

  • I had never been on a fisherman's trawler before, but we had an opportunity to visit the Gold Coast Fisherman's Co-op after our breakfast at Providore in the Marina Mirage. This was a completely new experience and I felt my inexperience most when I stepped up to my first trawler to ask about their spanner crabs.

  • When I heard about the Tacqeria Taco PopUp on Yelp, I was at once intrigued and excited. Stalking their Twitter @TacquitoPopUp and Facebook event page was the easy part. Figuring out where they were located was a little trickier. Several cryptic images on Twitter and then a location was mentioned on Facebook – Clyde Road in Kelvin Grove. We had lift off!
