  • Pablo has been one of our favourite breakfast spots and its original owners Michael and Amy Bates have now moved on to develop their new cafe, The Priory Kitchen or the Priory. They opened the doors to their new cafe in Woolloongabba’s new Trafalgar Lane on Monday 22 August 2016, so we waited a couple of weeks before visiting to let them settle in.

  • We were exploring the Adelaide shopping strip when the skies opened and forced us into hiding. We quickly ducked into the inviting warmth of The Stag Hotel and decided to weather out the rain with a bit of lunch.

  • Northshore Harbour Cafe is currently sitting on an oasis in the middle of development chaos. There are a few new apartment blocks and townhouses in the immediate area, but not much else. Construction cranes and trucks have the run of the area, but there is currently ample free parking and the cafe is surrounded by lush green grass and trees with a gorgeous view overlooking the Brisbane River and a tiny beach.

Yup, it's there too. It might seem confusing at first, but instead of trying to pigeon-hole Jabiru, just roll with it.

And it seemed fitting that the final wedding of 2015 would be the most splendid - it was of a dear friend while we were back in the motherland. But what else can one expect when it's held at Marina Bay Sands?

  • The Jam Pantry has been on my to-visit list ever since owner Naomi Zavackas (formerly the creator of Comfort at My Table and more widely known as Nims) opened her new business on Logan Road in January this year. And we managed to do just that enroute on an Ikea run (we love our cheap furniture) and finally dropping into the Jam Pantry for breakfast.
