  • It was St Paddy's Day on Sunday and what did we do? Head to Comfort At My Table for breakfast. I've heard so much about it, but being on the opposite side of the city meant it's trickier to get to for us, but if you're on that neck of the woods, I say definitely give them a shot.

  • Nonetheless I do like the occasional bubble tea. Just without the bubbles. I've found too many stores unable to provide consistently good bubbles (not too hard, not too soft and definitely not too sweet), so I have stuck to just the teas. And at the moment, my favorite has to be the Oolong milk tea from reP.I.T. Tea & Juice Bar in Elizabeth Arcade in the Brisbane CBD.

  • Our first visit to Sage on Ann was not encouraging and I'm not sure I'd visit again. Sage on Ann's kitchen had committed the cardinal sin of hard boiling the poached egg yolks, drying up any delight at having free-range eggs out with the missing trickle of liquid gold.

  • We don't have much of a chance to see where our food comes from in Brisbane, except perhaps at Ekka when the country meets the city, so I was excited at an invitation from Jocelyn Hancock to see where Alfred and Constance source their meat from in the Southern Downs.

  • It has been a BIG two weeks in my world, so thank you so much for your patience! I have spent the past 14 days in Melbourne and Brisbane, working hard and playing hard, and while it has been fun meeting and working with new people, I am so relieved to come home, kick back and sleep the weariness of being up at 5:30am (sometimes 2:30am) and working hard till at least 6pm away.

  • I was advised by several people via Twitter and Facebook to give the Gunshop Café's potato & feta hash cakes a go. That included a warning that they might be a little on the large portion size, but I braved it anyway.
