  • Dining like that is not possible here and now, but I think I can definitely feel some of that love for The Tuckshop out on Gerler Road in Hendra. It's a perfect spot for casual breakfasts (or lunches) with friends, if you want to head away from the city.

  • Dominique Rizzo, one of Queensland's most recognisable female chefs, opened Putia Pure Food Kitchen early last year and it has been on my to-visit list ever since. I was chuffed to take up the opportunity to join her March Mushroom Masterclass, an exclusive and small hands on class in partnership with the mushroom growers of Australia last week.

  • Northshore Harbour Cafe is currently sitting on an oasis in the middle of development chaos. There are a few new apartment blocks and townhouses in the immediate area, but not much else. Construction cranes and trucks have the run of the area, but there is currently ample free parking and the cafe is surrounded by lush green grass and trees with a gorgeous view overlooking the Brisbane River and a tiny beach.

  • Jabiru isn't limited to one culture or another, but rather seeks inspiration from the kaleidoscopic tapestry of nations that makes up the nation. Fish and chips? They've got it. Pad thai? Yup, it's there too. It might seem confusing at first, but instead of trying to pigeon-hole Jabiru, just roll with it.
