  • The wedding we were in Adelaide to attend was being held at Sfera’s Park Suites and Convention Centre and we were staying there for convenience. However it meant we did not have easy access to the abundance of dining options in the city, but the wedding couple suggested Pickled Duck was around the corner for the hungry.

  • A leisurely walk led us to Mexican Society of Chinatown's window, where we studied the menu from behind the glass. The bar showcased an impressive range of tequilas on their tequila menu, but should you expect anything less?

  • We were exploring the Adelaide shopping strip when the skies opened and forced us into hiding. We quickly ducked into the inviting warmth of The Stag Hotel and decided to weather out the rain with a bit of lunch.

  • Dining like that is not possible here and now, but I think I can definitely feel some of that love for The Tuckshop out on Gerler Road in Hendra. It's a perfect spot for casual breakfasts (or lunches) with friends, if you want to head away from the city.

  • Not to be mistaken with the Japanese restaurant of the same moniker in Crows Nest, Sydney, Adelaide's Ryo's Noodles first opened in 2014 to fill the gaping ramen hole on Adelaide's Asian eatery strip, Gouger Street. Two years later, Ryo's Noodles seemed to be going strong with a steady stream of hungry customers, eager for warm soup and noodles to boister themselves against the winter chill.

  • My first visit to Hawker's Cuisine was a mere three years ago, but oh, have the times changed. The new Hawker's Cuisine location is one expansive floor of dining with lots of space between to navigate a pram. No wonder it was still popular with extensive Asian family gatherings.

  • Perth has changed a bit since our last visit. There is now a Melbourne-sique vibe to the laneway action this west coast city has developed, adding to the excitement of urban exploration for us visitors. Taka Japanese Cuisine was one of these fortunate wrong-turn discoveries and we were not disappointed to have our Monday dinner there.

  • Sydney seemed full of hole-in-the-wall coffee joints for those on the run, but we had trouble finding a breakfast place that coaxed you to linger. Delisse on Clarance Street was the first we encountered and I fell in love with their pastry display.
