  • I was lucky enough to find an all-day free on-street parking spot, so I didn't have to go home. But I had fasted with the SO and was dying for at least a decent coffee. The nurses had a couple of recommendations and gave me specific instructions on how to navigate through the inner bowels of the hospital to Boundary Street. Why do they always build hospitals like mazes?

  • The Heavens had opened up over Brisbane and I ordinarily love rainy days for the cool relief it brings. But not when we have to go out hunting for breakfast. A quick scan of my to-visit list directed me to the next nearest breakfast joint - Flute Food and Wine in our old stomping ground of Rosalie.

  • There have been numerous good things written about Pawpaw Café and it’s been high on my list to visit. When the SO asked where we should head for breakfast last month, I suggested we drop in to try them out. I was excited and had hoped to be as wow-ed as the other bloggers who seemed to have been with their food and service.

  • Imagine my excitement to learn there was a French café much closer to our home on Brunswick Street. Banneton Bakery is by no means a new player to the hospitality game, but we have consistently missed opportunities to sample their wares from rushing around like headless chooks fulfilling weekly chores.
