Product Reveal from The Brisbane Essential Baby and Toddler Show

What did you get up to on the weekend?

We missed last year’s The Essential Baby and Toddler Show, but scored free tickets to the event this year. We locked it in our calendars months ago and have been eager to check it out.

And apparently so was Bubby.

The Essential Baby and Toddler Show 2016

Despite how busy The Essential Baby and Toddler Show was (I have never seen so many babies, toddlers and prams in one place), it was really well organised with lots of room to maneuver. The baby change area had lots of change tables and complimentary wet wipes. The nursing area had partitions with cushioned chairs and complimentary water. Sandpits for kids to play in and pram obstacle course… there was fantastic!

And look at the freebies we scored!

After collecting a few Bounty bags prior to Bubby’s birth, I think he is set for life with nappy creams. We never need to buy a tube or tub of the stuff ever!

And while we didn’t go with anything specific in mind we had to purchase, there were a number of show specials and I picked up a couple of things. Here’s a little product reveal from the Brisbane Essential Baby and Toddler Show.

The Essential Baby and Toddler Show 2016 - Baby Bare modern cloth nappies

The Essential Baby and Toddler Show 2016 - Bambooty modern cloth nappies

Bambooty modern cloth nappies

Bubby currently uses Pea Pods reusable cloth nappies when we’re at home. I got a stack of them used on Gumtree and while they work really well, they are getting a little tight around Bubby’s chubby thighs.

I picked up three pairs from Baby Bare and three from Bambooty – both had Buy-2-Get-1-Free offerings.

Baby Bare were offering AUD$48 for 3 bamboo nappies – making them AUD$16 per nappy (usually AUD$24 each). And these are in gorgeous soft minky – I’m a sucker for plush fuzziness and will be perfect for chilly winter evenings.

Bambooty offered AUD$49.90 for 3 of their One Size Options. That works out to AUD$16.63 per nappy (usually AUD$24.95). And they came with a reusable shopping bag! That is definitely getting used when we go to the shops.

We also stopped in at the Trendy Lil Treats and Sinchies booth. Bubby has been enjoying his food since he was 4 months old, but now that his meals include mashy and chunky textures, I picked up a Skip Hop Zoo Insulated Food Jar for AUD$23 (usually AUD$30) to add to his collection of Cherub Baby Reusable Baby Food Pouches.

If I didn’t already have a set of food pouches, I would’ve also grabbed a selection of Sinchies. They felt like they were made of better materials and had a wider range of attachment nozzles, including this silicone sip nozzle.

The Essential Baby and Toddler Show 2016 - Attipas shoes

Aren’t these Attipas shoes adorable?

I’ve been following Attipas on Facebook for awhile now, but never made a purchase. I wasn’t confident about the sizing, so was absolutely thrilled to see them at the show and tried them. And true enough! Bubby’s feet are large for his age and we had to get larger sizes. Their offer was 2 pairs for AUD$60 (usually AUD$34.95 per pair).

The Essential Baby and Toddler Show 2016 - Soap nuts

I heard about soap nuts some time ago and was really excited to see them available at the Go Gree At Home stall. Picking up a small 100gm bag for AUD$9 to try, I used 4-5 soap nuts placed in a tiny wash bag that was provided for a 5kg load of bedsheets, and they came out clean without that filmy residue with some commercially available detergents. You can also reuse them 3-4 times and then chuck them into a compost heap.

If you went to the The Essential Baby and Toddler Show, what did you get or see that got you excited?
