[Sponsored] Snuggle up to Heinz Beanz Creationz™

If you open my pantry, you will always find salt, pepper, a bottle of soy sauce and at least one can of Heinz baked beans. It makes an inexpensive meal and I practically lived on it during my al-cheapo university days, practically in winter when I craved something hearty and filling.

Best part was you don’t have to be a master chef to enjoy it. You can simply have it straight out of the can on a slice of warm toast, or jazz it up with a couple of things in your pantry or fridge. In fact, have you seen my super easy baked bean curry recipe? It’s the perfect tummy warmer!

And now Heinz has made it even easier to enjoy beans with their new range – Heinz Beanz Creationz™. This ready-to-eat range combines navy beans (yup, that’s the kind they use in baked beans) in five flavour sauces:

Heinz Beanz Creationz

Heinz has also included simple recipes on the tins to help you shake things up, but I honestly wouldn’t see a problem just digging straight into the can. Just pull the ring tab and away you go!

I was excited to try the Beanz Creationz Spanish Style (flavoured with chorizo) and Beanz Creationz Fiery Mexican Style, and generally followed the recipes to make our meals – Spanish eggs for the Beanz Creationz Spanish Style and a 5-minute Tex Mex Chili con Carne for the Beanz Creationz Fiery Mexican Style.

As for the Beanz Creationz Spanish Style, the chorizo flavour was there and the Spanish eggs was a great way to start the chilly day. All I needed was to simply thaw and stir through some baby spinach, before cracking an egg and sprinkling grated cheese over the mixture to bake in a ramekin. Ta-dah! Breakfast served with thick buttered toast and you might not need lunch afterwards.

With the Beanz Creationz Fiery Mexican Style, I paired it with cornbread instead of corn chips. I know, totally fancypants! Heinz could definitely turn up the heat factor in the Beanz Creationz Fiery Mexican Style, cuz there ain’t much fiery in it. If you want a really bangin’ chilli con carne, you could add more spices and whack in a generous dollop of sour cream if you got heavy handed.

Now I’m super keen to see how my super easy baked bean curry might go with the Beanz Creationz Mild Curry!

The Heinz Beanz Creationz™ range is available in 420g can sizes and can be found in the baked beans aisle in all major Australian retailers, for a recommended retail price of AUD$2.49 (current as of 2 June 2015.) from June 2015.

Do you love baked beans? Have you already tried Heinz Beanz Creationz™ and did you like it?
