Domino's Pulled Pork range

What I love about pulled pork is that it uses a tough cut of meat (therefore usually cheaper than the premium cuts) and is cooked slowly at low temperatures, allowing the meat to become tender enough so that it can be “pulled” – easily pulled apart with forks (or your fingers) into smaller pieces. Everyone does pulled pork differently, but perhaps the most popular style is the US BBQ pulled pork, which is usually smoky.

So when Domino’s announced the launch of their new pulled pork range of pizzas, I knew this one is up our alley. What’s even better is they come in their chef’s best range. Score!

Domino's Pulled Pork Meatlovers

Domino’s Pulled Pork Meatlovers. AUD$11.95

Let’s start with Domino’s Pulled Pork Meatlovers. This pizza has every carnivore’s dream: tender pulled pork, Italian sausage, pepperoni, rasher bacon & mozzarella with a smokey sweet Hickory BBQ sauce swirl.

Compared to the normal BBQ Meatlovers (Rasher bacon, pepperoni, smoked leg ham, ground beef, Italian sausage & mozzarella on BBQ Sauce), the Pulled Pork Meatlovers has of course the addition of the pulled pork, minus the ground beef and the Hickory sauce replaces the BBQ sauce. While I enjoyed the hickory sauce being not as sweet as the BBQ sauce, the Pulled Pork Meatlovers didn’t really rock my world.

On the other hand, I found Domino’s Hickory BBQ Pulled Pork better balanced with some fresh veg- it is topped with that tender pulled pork, red onion & capsicum topped with mozzarella and the same smokey sweet Hickory BBQ sauce swirl as the Pulled Pork Meatlovers.

Domino's Chilli Lime Pulled Pork

But our favorite was surprisingly turned out to be the Chilli Lime Pulled Pork: tender pulled pork, crunchy Vietnamese slaw, mushrooms, red onion, baby spinach on crème fraiche with mozzarella and a chilli lime drizzle. I couldn’t quite tell what was in the slaw, except maybe a couple of basil leaves? Many attempts at Asian flavours tend to fall flat on their face, but Domino’s Chilli Lime Pulled Pork has impressed us and didn’t last long enough for breakfast leftovers.

Domino's Belgian Hot Choc Fudge Brownies

By the way, I’m a sucker for a good fudgey dark chocolate brownie and who would’ve thought that Domino’s Belgian Hot Choc Fudge Brownies with a decadent chocolate dipping sauce would hit that sweet spot so right.
