A wedding lunch by the river – Eve’s on the River

I have heard many lamentations that once one reaches a certain point in their lives, everyone around them start getting married, then having children… and then finally, as the great cycle of life dictates, you start attending more funerals than you’d like.

Funnily enough, the SO and I don’t get to attend too many weddings since we had our own 7 years ago. In fact, the wedding of his best friend over two weekends ago was the first wedding we’ve attended in Australia. It was also the first time the SO was invited to be one of the groomsmen – an honor he was very chuffed about, but he thankfully didn’t need to be depended upon to plan very much at all. That particular distinction went to the best man, who as a fellow control freak, I take my hat off to, because the man is an organisation champ.

Anyway, back to this wedding. Despite the massive storm the day before, the weather was perfect for the outdoor ceremony and we got to enjoy a lovely lunch at Eve’s on the River.

Unfortunately after 3 glasses of champagne, I came away with a raging headache that went on into the night (not helped by the food poisoning from the burrito I had for dinner). That’ll teach me to drink too much alcohol I’m not familiar with.
