Chester Street Late Night Dessert Launch

My prayers have been answered!

When I first visited dear friend Celeste of Travelling in Mary Janes in Adelaide in 2012, she introduced me to this why-didn’t-we-think-of-this-sooner? culture of late night dessert joints. Devour Dessert Bar and Eggless blew my tastebuds away with their inventive and decadent dessert creations, and I came back to Brisbane wishing we had the same culinary late night vibe in our city.

Chester Street is pushing the envelope further and launched their late night dessert bar this week. With over a dozen menu items, patron chef Jocelyn Hancock is featuring some of the classics, such as apple pie, ice cream sundae and sticky date pudding. And if nothing catches your eye on the menu, I recommend getting up and checking what’s in the glass cases – cakes, slices, pavlova, cookies, marshmallows… Chester Street makes everything on site including all the cakes, fillings sauces and garnishes from scratch.

There isn’t anything quite like this on James Street, and offers a sweet alternative available till midnight every day of the week to a boozy night out… which means every school night can be a night out with friends at Chester Street.
