  • Just off La Trobe Terrace on Collingwood St, the modern Middle Eastern influenced café Shouk is housed in a warm blue-grey corner shop that has seen a modern extension out the back, thus providing guests seated at the back of the café an almost bird’s eye picturesque view of the little suburbia towards Jubilee Terrace.

That soothing sense that one should take in the simple pleasure of sipping an aromatic cup of hot coffee while catching up on the morning news saturates the air at Spring Hill Deli – a welcome change to the sterility of hospitals and clinics.

It's been on my list to-visit, so I was really pleased to have finally made it there. However, when I had asked the SO if he had brought one of our proper cameras, he eyed me woefully and replied: "This is a birthday dinner, not a food blogging dinner."
