  • When I was invited to visit Queensland's Sirromet Winery, I was hesitant. What can a non-wino (and definitely no wine expert) say about their award winning wines? I laid out my concerns to their marketing manager and she very kindly invited me to visit one of their 3 dining venues, Tuscan Terrace. So of course I said yes.

  • While the SO enjoyed the fresh selection of seafood in the chirashi don set at Reef Seafood and Sushi, he lamented that it still didn’t match up to our favourite chirashi don on the Gold Coast by way of variety or aesthetic arrangement. On those fronts, we weren't wowed.

  • Domino's have launched a new Peri Peri Pizza Range, which sounds very much up our alley. Peri peri (or as we say around the house - pear-EH pear -EH) is a flavour I love. It packs heat, makes you sweat and turns anything bland into a very tasty meal. And I know I’m not the only one out there. Raise your hands, peri peri lovers!

  • Now that I've attended The Art of Fermentation with Sandor Katz session (organised by Milkwood Permaculture), I really wanna turn my hand to preserve making. And I'm in luck! The RNA and Executive Chef cooking school have teamed up, so you can learn the secrets to producing a blue ribbon winning preserve from Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) blue ribbon champions and competition judges.

  • I don’t even remember what business used to be where Beach Burrito Company is now, but what Beach Burrito Company have done with the place is a million times better. They have created a chill tropical explosion of colour and if you push further back, they have a great outdoor seating area out back. It might not be sand between your toes (in fact, I highly recommend NOT kicking off your shoes), but it comes pretty darn close.
