Bistro One Eleven’s $45 dinner deal

I am such a sucker for a great deal. Back in the motherland, I would always try to make  the best friends with a Lobang King/Queen, because keeping up on all the best deals can be such hard work and you never want to miss out on a good deal.

Well, here’s a great one for you: Bistro One Eleven is currently offering diners a $45 dinner, Monday to Fridays between 5:30pm till 7pm. You get an entrée, a main and a glass of wine for the price of a very fancy a la carte main, which in my book, is a “booyah!” moment.

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven’s $45 dinner deal menu offers you two options with each course. And yes, that includes the wine. That night, it was a pinot noir and a pinot grigio.

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven

Seared whiting fillets, skordalia, shaved fennel with basil pistou

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven

Bistro One Eleven

Wagyu rump cap with potato rosti and beans

Now I was a little selfish and didn’t share my main, cuz I don’t get many opportunities to have rabbit, but the verdict across the table from those who were far more generous was that between the wagyu rump and the rabbit tagliatelle, the rabbit tagliatelle was the winner.

Unconvinced and rather guilty the SO has been missing out, I promised the SO we would dine there the next day. The menu was ever so slightly different, with prawns instead of whiting on offer and the steak served whole with beans rather than carrots. Personally I preferred the whiting, but the SO voted for the prawn instead. And while the pasta on my second visit was cooked ever so slightly longer, I still adored it. The steak was not to be sniffed at and we did enjoy the flavour very much.

If you’ve been waiting for a special occasion to hit up Bistro One Eleven, you don’t have to. Not with this deal on offer. Bistro One Eleven came up with this 5:30pm till 7pm dinner concept to appeal to those who want an early dinner after work or before heading out to a show/concert in the city. You may have to request for this particular menu as we did on our impromptu visit, as it is new and the staff are more accustomed to handing out the regular menu.

Please note the menu is likely to change as the chefs experiment with seasonal produce, giving patrons the chance to try new entrée’s and mains that are not on the regular menu. So if you are particularly taken by the rabbit tagliatelle, I highly recommend you get in quick.
