The Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant

The Natural Bridge in Springbrook National Park holds special significance for the SO and I. Back when we were still in the awkward throes of getting to know each other and working out if this was going to be a relationship, we visited this natural landmark at night on a brief weekend away.

Running through the forest trail after dark with the worst torch known to man, we stood exhilarated in the cave as Japanese tourist surrounded us and ‘ooooooooo’ed at the pseudo-constellations of glowworm butts overhead. Since then, we’ve taken a number of visiting friends to Natural Bridge.

So when Amanda mentioned she had never been before, we had to make the trip down and stop in at the Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant for lunch.

The Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant

The Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant’s rustic forest cabin decor comes complete with a collection of pickled snakes, insects and arachnids displayed in a variety of glass jars. It might not be for the squirmish, but makes for a great conversation starter when you have little ones in tow.

If the weather is fine, I would recommend dining out on the patio area overlooking the gorgeous hillside.

The Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant offers meals with few frills, but all the trimmings. It’s predominantly burgers and sandwiches.

Mexican vege burger. AUD$10.80

Portions are extremely generous at the Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant, but I was disappointed with my veggie burger. The patty was a nondescript combination of crumbed cream filler laced with the usual frozen veg, and there was nothing about the sauce or combo that said ‘Mexican’. Everyone else who had meat in their burgers The veg was very fresh and could barely be contained in the bun.

The Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant doesn’t claim to be gourmet and you shouldn’t expect it to be. However, if you are looking for a hearty feed surrounded by the lush scenery of the Natural Bridge area, the Natural Arch Cafe Restaurant is a logical stop.
