Care for chicken? Sukachi, previously known as Hosaku might have something for you.

The centre piece of their dinner menu is the chicken, which is offered in two main preparations: oven baked or deep fried. They are then tossed in a variety of dressings, such as teriyaki or chilli. Prices are fairly straightforward – a whole chicken comes at AUD$24.90, while a half chicken portion is AUD$13.90.

If you’re lazy and would prefer to chomp down on the chicken without worrying about losing a filling, you can ‘upgrade’ your chicken to boneless for an additional AUD$2.

After placing our order, a small dish of puffs and cold salad were provided as nibbles while we waited.

To provide our dinner with some semblance of balance, I ordered a garden salad and was very pleased with how large a portion for AUD$9.50. Loaded with fresh salad leaves and halved cherry tomatoes, it was slathered across in rows of thick dressing.

We picked the ‘Teriyaki + Hot and Spicy’, a deep fried chicken combo which is only available for whole chicken.

The roof of my mouth suffered from the abrasive nature of the deep fried process, but the chicken wasn’t excessively dry and the sauces were tasty. I might recommend eating this with a portion of rice, rather than on its own though.
