Street Food Australia

I’ve been stalking Street Food Australia. There. I’ve said it. But can you blame me? They were bringing a piece of Asian culture to Australia – mobile food stalls – and it was starting in Brisbane. How often can we thump our chests and say we started it all?! Then I was gutted when I missed the launch in February, especially when the twittersphere was rocking photos and gushes about the offerings.

So I stalked harder. It took me awhile to work out where their first bicycle was parked, but armed with a trusty map on my iPhone from their Twitter account, I dragged two colleagues for moral support to face my stalkee with my dumpling craving.

Their dumpling menu includes their pork and chive (da yum!), chicken and donngu mushroom (thumbs up), and vegetarian with tofu (tricky little suckers as they fall apart easily). At 4 pieces for $6 or 8 for $10, it’s not a bad lunch option if you’re in the city. Condiments are limited to light soy sauce and a black bean chilli sauce (not terribly spicey, but very flavourful).

Stalk them on Twitter for their latest locations!
