reP.I.T. Tea & Juice Bar

Anyone recall when the whole bubbletea craze exploded? It was yonks ago when I had my first cup back in Singapore – long before it made its way to Brisbane and the brand Gong Cha dominated the Asian market.

Nonetheless I do like the occasional bubble tea. Just without the bubbles. I’ve found too many stores unable to provide consistently good bubbles (not too hard, not too soft and definitely not too sweet), so I have stuck to just the teas.

And at the moment, my favorite has to be the Oolong milk tea from reP.I.T. Tea & Juice Bar in Elizabeth Arcade in the Brisbane CBD.

reP.I.T. Tea & Juice Bar is a really tiny store inside the arcade – across from City Wok and beside Japanese curry store Kadoya. It does have extremely limited seating, so much of its business is about takeaways.

They have recently been offering a small selection of food items, including pork chop rice and braised pork noodles with hardboiled egg. It’s quite inexpensive and doesn’t taste half bad when you’re looking for a decent bite  to take back to the office.
