e.l.f Essential Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade review

My first e.l.f order won’t be my last, but if so, it won’t be because of e.l.f‘s Essential Luscious Liquid Lipstick.

I picked up the Essential Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Pink Lemonade (AUD$3.99).

It comes in a tube with built-in sponge tip. The sponge tip has soft flocking-like fibres, and does not look like it’s replaceable. This might be a hygiene concern to some, but seeing as I would be the only one using the product, I don’t mind too much.

To load more product to the tip, there is a turn-dial at the end to twist. It looks like it is just a simple cork screw mechanism to push up the product up to the tip.

In tube, this is a bright mauve pink with a touch of neutral shimmer. It is lightly scented in what I think is slightly minty. That in itself is lovely – not heavily perfumed and with something besides the generic vanilla, strawberry or watermelon most brands lean towards for lip products.

However I had hoped it would serve as a proper lipstick – it IS advertised as a lipstick – but there is hardly any colour payoff and its stickiness is much more reminiscent of a gloss. It is not particularly hydrating either, so this one is a ‘probably won’t buy again’.
