Volks School A has always been one of my favorite BJD sculpts, but I have never had the desire to own one. It has been an admiration from afar via other people’s collections, such as Caress of Venus.
However this week, I was commissioned to do a faceup for this sculpt and I adored it! The Volks resin quality is still top-notch and I found little to fault the finish. God knows I have wept over sculpts with non-symmetrical eye sockets, unfinished edges and poor quality resin.
So here’s my first Volks School A faceup. I hope his owner enjoys him as much as I did painting his face in.
