Holika Holika cosmetics haul

I had to hunt down the new Holika Holika store in Wisma Atria, who opened in Singapore in April this year.

Holika Holika is a relatively new Korean cosmetic brand with a whimsical magical witch theme. Its logo is a witch on a broomstick. Judging from photos of its flagship store in Korea, the Singapore outlet pales in comparison as it’s only a small store in the basement level with simpler furnishings. but you cannot miss the huge wall with the brand ambassadors Korean band CN Blue on the outside.

Nonetheless there are tonnes of products to try and I dragged the SO from end to end before deciding on the following:

Holika Holika Liquid Roller BB in 01. SGD$42

This is probably one of the best matched BBs I’ve seen for me. To give you an idea of my skin shade, I wear either Bobbi Brown’s Warm Beige or Natural foundation (depending on whether I’ve been out in the sun). 02 is a little too dark for me, though I’d imagine I might be able to wear it if I were a little more sunkissed.

It comes with SPF 15, a plus for someone like me who gets lazy about sunblock in a country with the highest rate of skin cancer.

Plus the Holika Holika liquid roller BB (페이스 2 체인지 리퀴드 롤러 비비) has such an awesome applicator. The sponge tip is really soft and helps with a smooth application. No more messy fingers! It snaps on and off easily, and there’s an additional sponge bit if it gets too ratty after awhile.

The downside to this BB (and as with most BBs) is the oil control is low. Without a finishing powder on an especially humid day, I had to blot my T-zone in 2 hours of wear.

Holika Holika Hello Holika blush in 01. SGD$45

How cute is this Hello Holika (헬로 홀리카) blush compact? I would’ve squeed out loud if the sales assistant wasn’t standing right beside me, trying to explain what it was.

The detail in the pressed powder pattern is amazing! The words ‘Holika Holika’ is ’embossed’ in the highlighter portion and the kitty has swirl patterns like those on the box. How can you resist the cute?

Colour is really soft (coral and soft pinks) and loads of sparkle. I do like that you get so many shades in the one compact, so you can either use one shade or mix it up.

Holika Holika is having a 1-for-1 sale (of equal or lesser value) till this Friday, so I got both the BB and blush for SGD$45 (vs SGD$92). Now I’m tempted to go back to pick up their popular egg soaps.
