What’s in our mini box? Food Connect 2011 Week 16

I’d like to be able to bring a salad to work. My usual home-packed lunches occasionally get scrutinised by colleagues, who tend to bring in more mundane meals of crackers/sandwiches/pastas/curries. A salad seems much more normal than kung pow chicken/nestum prawns/vietnamese style soup/pig trotter’s noodles/cow’s tongue tagine – yes, we eat some strange things in our household.

So it’s annoying the lettuce in the last 2 Food Connect boxes have arrived with their leaves falling apart. It forces us to have fresh salad in the first 2 days of the box’s arrival, leaving nothing green to throw in for the work week.

I also now have more sweet potato, pears and apples than ever before! Fellow foodie and gorgeous girlfriend Erushi has shared a great little recipe for the pears (which I’ve tried with apples and will be doing with pears next to share here). And I’ll probably make sweet potato hummus for the family Easter picnic, but what to do with them apples?!
